Haruto Kisaragi has one goal for high school: stay unnoticed.
Sit quietly. Do the work. Help when needed. Never stand out.
It is a simple plan, until the first day of school places him beside Mio Tachibana, a girl who seems calm, capable, and impossible to ignore. Mio is the kind of person everyone depends on. She smiles politely, takes responsibility quickly, and acts like nothing ever gets to her.
But Haruto notices things.
He notices when her smile becomes too practiced. He notices when she apologizes for problems that are not her fault. He notices when she carries more than she should.
And somehow, Mio notices him too.
At first, they are only temporary class helpers, two students sharing forms, awkward conversations, and the seat beside the window in spring. But small moments begin to change them. A shared walk home. A quiet lunch. A mistake fixed together. A silence that feels less lonely when the other person is there.
As their world slowly expands through friendships, festivals, rainy days, family pressures, summer trips, exams, and first love, Haruto and Mio must face the parts of themselves they have always tried to hide.
Because love is not just about finding someone.
Sometimes, it is about learning to be seen.
And sometimes, the person who sits beside you in spring becomes the person you want beside you for every season after.
