wizard-7
Kai expected school to mean homework, awkward introductions, and maybe figuring out how to survive without embarrassing himself too badly. He did not expect a flying airship, a talking sort of magic he somehow already half knew, or a best friend named Toby who could eat his weight in chocolate and still have room for gossip.
At Ashveil Academy, Kai is quickly labeled unusual, even by magical standards. His wand won't answer. A word no one else understands falls out of his mouth during sorting. And the deeper he digs, the more he realizes his parents didn't simply die they vanished into a war most of the wizarding world has spent years pretending was over.
Now Kai and the friends who gathered around him must chase the truth through old books, forbidden woods, and one very dangerous tree hiding under the school's oldest ground. Because someone is still looking for him. And this time, hiding isn't going to be enough.
