Hell is a teenage girl. The opening quote to what would become a cult classic but was underappreciated in its time. A quote from a non-appreciated film, perhaps the most famous ghost film ever: "I see dead people" The Fier name has a bad legacy in Split River. Joel Fier and Wally Clark were good friends, being on the same football team, until September thirtieth, 1983, when Wally's knee buckled and Joel accidentally slammed into him, resulting in Wally's instant death via broken neck. He went from football player to social outcast before October. Twenty-two years later, he had a daughter with the cheer captain and valedictorian of the class of '84, now FBI agent, Elizabeth Cadman. Her parents separated when she was young, and her mother moved to Milwaukee while she stayed in Split River until she was thirteen, and events happened that caused her to move in with her mom. Neither of her parents fully moved on from Wally's death as they both had loved him, so she grew up walking past his picture in the living room each day as they tried to raise her to make sure she would never know the pain and guilt of feeling responsible for the death of someone so dear to her. But nothing could've stopped what happened one month ago. She moved back to Split River after a physically and mentally traumatic incident, her family legacy now having a pattern and knowing exactly how her dad felt after Wally's death. She is the antisocial outcast who has managed to fall back in with her old friends, but she is keeping a secret from them, for everybody. Ever since she woke up from that coma, two weeks before the school year began, she has been able to see ghosts and when she goes to Split River High, she sees the ghost of the boy she has been told about for as long as she can remember but then one of her friends goes missing and ends up stuck at the school with no memory of how she died but Mia can see her. Sarah Mackenzie was seventeen when she died. She died in 1985, at the ripe age of seventeen. Her guide was naturally Wally, one of her closest friends and ex-best friends' boyfriend. What he didn't know was that she had a crush on him the year prior and mourned his death, longer than her friend, long after everyone else stopped, just for her to join him the next year. After her, Charley joined them. Now Maddie. After Sarah's death, she didn't join the afterlife support group. She didn't want to face Wally, both because she still has feelings for him and is embarrassed for taking so long to grieve him. She becomes close with Maddie and thanks to Maddie and Rhonda, they help Wally and Sarah reconnect.

Donnie never believed in spirits. So when his brother and him travel to an abandoned house at nighttime, his main goal is to boost his ego by proving that ghosts do not exists whatsoever. Except, by trying to prove that, he only encountered something that could change his mind and course of studies completely. When he does in fact meet a ghost there named Y/n he realizes that he's been wrong this whole time. Y/n on the other hand is just a free spirit who wanders around with nothing to do. She doesn't really have family to watch over, or friends, in fact she doesn't remember anything of her old life or how she died. It's been a mystery to her for years now and for some reason no pieces are being put together. When she meets Donnie who finds away to see her which no one else can do, she gains the slightest bit of hope that he could be the one to help her find her way to the other side. --- uggghh i hate writing descriptions based off of both school spirits and that one ghost busters movie with the ice guy or whatever just me writing for fun because i thought this was a cool idea 😼 also the cover is not mine and i lowk have no clue where it came from
