This is a story set in a post-apocalyptic world where a virus has turned people into flesh-eating zombies. The protagonist, Adam, teams up with a group of survivors to find a cure for the virus. Along the way, they face many challenges, including battling hordes of zombies and encountering a mysterious man with unusual abilities. Amidst the chaos, Adam develops a deep connection with one of his teammates, Anna, but their mission to find a cure becomes even more urgent when Anna becomes infected with the virus. The story ends with the team facing a massive zombie army as they make their way to a laboratory in hopes of finding a cure.

Ryker and Porter have escaped Blue Hill with Mr. Yaw and Mr. Gerald. Maya is said to have disappeared and the authorities are blaming it on the boys who mysteriously fled town on the day she disappeared. Ryker and Porter discover some startling things about themselves, their pasts, and Ryker's power, and why Porter is silent. They end up in Alliance, Nebraska where Mr. Yaw has a safe house. Ezra is waiting for them; Yaw and Gerald go off in search of the other test subjects. Ezra suggests they try and rescue Maya and Porter's parents in the meantime. Why would he put them back in the line of fire? Are they even still in Nebraska?
