Letters Between Us
Aaditya, a shy and introverted photography student at Delhi University, discovers a handwritten letter hidden inside his hostel desk drawer one Monday morning. The letter is written by Meera, a literature student who claims to have studied at the same university ten years ago. What begins as a strange coincidence soon turns into a weekly ritual when Aaditya replies - and receives another letter in response, proving that their words are somehow crossing time.
Through these letters, Aaditya and Meera form a deep emotional bond. Meera writes from the past, sitting beneath a banyan tree that no longer exists in Aaditya's present. As their correspondence continues, Meera reveals her loneliness, emotional struggles, and hints at a painful decision that could "end her story." Aaditya, growing increasingly attached, investigates her identity and discovers that Meera died tragically years ago, her life ending beneath the very tree she wrote from.
Determined to save her, Aaditya continues writing, offering hope and comfort, even as he learns the truth behind the letters. He uncovers that the banyan tree's wood was reused to make his hostel desk, creating a temporal pocket where emotions and written words can travel across time. The letters do not change fate, but they preserve connection, allowing Meera to feel seen in her final days.
Eventually, the letters stop. Aaditya realizes he was never meant to change the past - only to remember it. Over time, he unknowingly becomes part of the same time loop, leaving letters of his own behind. Years later, a new student finds one of Aaditya's letters in the same desk, continuing the cycle of connection across time.
Letters Between Us is a bittersweet story about loneliness, fate, and how words can outlive time, proving that even fleeting connections can leave eternal echoes.
