"There was no denying it. Rein was alone, staring into the grey horizon of the world that made no sense. Again." Time is at a stand-still. The sun is set in its place in the western sky, never flinching. Everything else on the island remains frozen in time. Until Rein touches it. The problem is, he has no clue how he got there. He has no memory of things being any different than they are now - broken. The one thing he does know is, if things stay how they are, there is no way off of the island. Thousands of cycles have proven it true. The only thing he can do now is wait... wait and hope for something to change. Oh, how he wished that things would just change.... Until the day they did.

I am about to be sacrificed! It is necessary for my planets survival. If I don't then the God that lives in our sun will shallow our planet whole. But a man is here telling me that our planet isn't worth saving. He is giving me an out of a path that I had no choice in, but if I do everyone will die! What would you do? This is a short story that I wrote for an @SciKick competition the goal was to involve 1000 in some way and keep the word count under 1000. I managed to do both in a story that I am pretty happy with. However I will let you guys make the decision on it.
