Surgery sounds scary, doesn't it? It did to me, still does even though the operation already happened. Now have any of you ever heard of Scoliosis? I didn't. It wasn't important, wasn't even a word in my vocabuary. Scoliosis is an "abnormal lateral curvature of the spine". In my case, and most others, my spine was an "S". This journal will document my recovery after spinal surgery, a surgery that my surgeon said was "a traumatic experience to the body". I will also be talking about what I remember from the hospital and right before I went into surgery.

This is a short description that puts you in my shoes and shows you how scoliosis (in my case a congenital disease, an S shape 52° major curve in the top of my spine and a 24° compensatory curve in my lower spine) affects me on a day to day basis. This piece of text was originally my way of expressing how I feel by aiming it at my bullies in school, who make fun of me for this condition and many more things endlessly. TRIGGER WARNING - although there are no graphic details in this text, this text may be very emotional to some people, as it was for me when I was writing it. Also there is one use of the F word. She knew that she was at normal but she didn't know she would never become normal again this girl has scoliosis meaning her spine is crooked. Her friends never knew that about her but she knew that she had it didn't tell anyone though.

This is a true story about a girl named Lille (me) and her life with scoliosis. Scoliosis is sideways curvature of the spine usually shaped like an "s" or a "c" (mine is an "s")

Scoliosis is a spine deformity. That means that my spine is basically shaped like an s. This is my story. Scoliosis has affected me emotionally and physically. I hope this brings comfort to people going through hard times with deformities and diseases.

this is my story with scoliosis.

Mia is a 13 year old girl who loves gymnastics. She's been a gymnast since she was 2 years old, but came up with mild scoliosis at age 7. Mia never wore her brace though she knew that she was suppose wear it all times except when she is swimming or doing gymnastics. This caused the curve in her back to increase in degrees instead of decreasing like how it was suppose to. After a big mistake, doctors tell her that back surgery has to be done. Along with a 50-50 chance of getting back up perfectly. Will she ever do gymnastics again ? Or will it just be in her dreams ?

I got to what seemed like trouble, but actually a blessing in disguise, an uncomfortable grace.
