This is the story about my own personal journey with scoliosis. My hope with this book is to have someone who's in a similar position read it, and not feel as alone as I did and sometimes still do. Scoliosis is a hard thing to face alone, it's a hard thing to face anytime actually. So I hope someone out there can not only understand that the world isn't ending because they're a little bent, but also that they are not broken. Total word count: 2,392

Just a few ideas that came into my mind. I decided to put them into a single piece of art. Yes, this is based off me and some but not all the treatment steps I went through to manage it. I actually have an S curve of scoliosis. It is non fiction. Hope you enjoy!

Sssnnnaaaapppp That's the sound of my straps on my brace. I fricken hate this brace. Oh wait you don't know what I'm talking about. Let's start from the top, It was a bright sunshiny summer day. I was going to the doctors for my routine physical. "Bend over for me please" said the doctor. I did as told and he started feeling my back. It was very uncomfortable. Then he asked me to get my mom so that he could talk to her. Right then I knew something's wrong. Usually I walk in and walk out. But not today. My mom walked in the room and asked the doctor what's wrong. "She has scoliosis" "What's that" I barged in. "It means your spine is curved" Then I asked every kids question, "am I going to die?" "Haha, no your not going to die" After that my mom and the doctor talked for a while and I waited in the waiting room. My mom came out and told me everything. She said that we have to see another doctor in about a month.

It's about a 13 year old girl who plays hockey finds out she has scoliosis. She has to go through ups and downs. What will happen will hockey? But when she meets the one, what will happen for her?

When I was born, I was different from other babies. I had a spine that didn't look lie a spine. The doctors put a metal rod in my back, hoping it would straighten. My spine was getting better, but my soul was getting worse. I was prescribed with countless medicines for my pain. They only made me feel worse. You need strength to face a situation, which becomes an experience. Your experience maybe someone else's solution! Through this, I'd like to create an awareness about scoliosis and how to deal with it by staying positive and strong!
