Now at the three month mark since moving back to Chicago, I realized my career wasn't going to be the same as it once had. The old me had been so stern, a bit unhappy and definitely lost. I loved my job but it had been taking a toll on me up until I became a motherly figure to more than my own children. With many years between that last time I had taken the job as principal and stepping away to move with Scott, I felt like I had more experience and was now channeling a more caring individual.

Bernard and Emilia are elves at Santa's workshop, and hate each other. With Bernard being head elf, and Emilia being second elf, their bickering had made themselves mistaken for unseeable love. But when the Santa they work for is killed and replaced, their story gets even crazier.

By helping Santa Claus with a Christmas crisis, Scott unknowingly agrees to become the next Santa Claus and his daughter unknowingly becomes the next Spirit Of Christmas. Now, Scott and Samira have to deal with a suspicious former wife/Mum while trying to keep their secret safe. Samira Calvin has always wondered about the name on her wrist and why no one she knew or had seen in her whole life had one. If confused her terribly. (I wrote this in middle school. The second and third installments of this book are better than this one tbh) Ever since I was little I had loved Christmas. When my parents told me Santa Claus wasn't real (I was around 11) I didn't believe them. I always believed he was there even now at 16. I don't know why I still do I just felt that somehow he was out there. I just felt that there was still magic out there. I also still believe in the tooth fairy, cupid, easter bunny, father time, mother nature, sandman, and jack frost. When my dad accidentally makes Santa fall off our roof. Then he puts on the coat and becomes Santa! We go to the North Pole and meet an elf named Bernard. He seemed like a business guy at first, but when he started talking to me he became really shy and bashful which I found adorable. What happens when Dad doesn't want to believe he is Santa Clause? Will me and my brother Charlie ever go back to the North Pole? Will I ever see Bernard again? And do we think of each other as friends or will it be something more?

Bernard keeps Santa's workshop working, yet doesn't socialize much with any of the other elves, choosing instead to keep to himself. In contrast, Mindy is a social butterfly, concerned with social status within the elf community. She brags about her parents status as toy maker elves, yet ignores the existence of her older brother. To her, he's an embarrassment due to not being a toy maker elf and she can't think of any other job at Santa's workshop which is as important as making toys. Disclaimer - I don't own 'Santa Clause' or '48 Christmas Wishes'. The idea for this story sprung into my head after watching the second movie on Netflix. This particular crossover goes AU after the first 'Santa Clause' series, but is almost completely AU regarding the second movie. The elements from the second movie which change up the canon for 'Santa Clause' is that I'm bringing over the concept of adult elves, but also the characters. For those who've not seen the second movie, the plot involves a newbie elf named Mindy who finds herself stuck in the mail room with her friends Sammy and Cam despite her strength at elf school being in making toys. She pretty much brags about how her parents were toy makers, and she shouldn't be there. She causes a mishap with her friends because she doesn't take her job seriously, so they end up needing to save Christmas. That's pretty much what readers need to know, that, and a few other small bits I'll bring up later. That, and there will be some twists.
