Scourge didn't mean to voice his confusion, but he couldn't help it. Everything in Mobius was wrong ever since he left Snakebone Forest. The creature chuckled, the sound coming out distorted and dark, but vaguelly similar to Sonic's voice, "Not really~" the creature's grin widened, showing off sharp yellow canines within his mouth, "I've never seen you around before, handsome, so where did you come from?" the creature then asked.

Sonic is convicted for murdering an important official and is sent to Zone Jail. Zonic leaves to go prove his innocence, so Sonic has to survive a prison full of inmates that hate him until then.
