I like to headcanon that the SMP names are like nicknames that just kinda stuck, so if I refer to someone by their actual I am still talking about the character. In Niki's case, I'll mostly refer to her as 'Nikita' or 'Dr. N'. I'll be focusing more on the side reports now and not the files, but there are a lot of files for those that only want those. And for those that don't care about the files and only want the plot,,, sorry, a lot of the story and explanations are hidden in the files that can't be learned through the side reports, like SCP-8811-1.
