I wrote this short story back in 2016 for one of the Needle in the Hay prompts about something small happening the valley of Grande Vast, and it had to be less than 500 words. Queen Amira has always been strong. She rarely gets sick and always recovers quickly, but this time is different. She's bedridden, throwing up, and struggling to sleep. Sir Andiria, the only daughter of the queen and the youngest, is terrified that her mother is going to die and finds the whole thing suspicious.
