Mini Book/ Short Story inspired by the kissing booth movies on Netflix, this is my take on a cute Little Romantic story.
Delilah spent her teenage years chasing a boy who never truly saw her.
At fifteen, her world revolved around Evan-the charming blonde boy from the bus rides before and after school. While her crush became impossible to hide, Evan only ever offered distant smiles and awkward glances. To everyone else, she was just the girl who followed him around. The girl who cared too much.
But there was always someone else watching.
Jack-Evan's quiet twin brother-stood in the background for years, hiding behind cold stares and silence while secretly falling for the very girl who adored his brother.
Now, twelve years later, Delilah is twenty-seven, guarded, and still carrying the embarrassment of never fitting in. A chance meeting with Jack at a shopping centre leads to an invitation she almost declines: a small party at his house. But when old memories resurface and a humiliating comment from Evan's friends sends her running, Delilah is forced to confront every insecurity she thought she buried long ago.
What she doesn't expect is Jack chasing after her.
For the first time, the quiet twin finally tells the truth-that while Delilah spent years looking at Evan, Jack spent years looking at her.
As old wounds reopen and long-hidden feelings rise to the surface, Delilah begins to realize that maybe her first love was never the right one. Maybe the boy she chased was only leading her toward the man who had loved her quietly all along.
A heartfelt slow-burn romance about unrequited love, healing old insecurities, and finally being chosen by someone who truly sees you.
