BOOK 1 of the Engkanto Chronicles Series = Gemfot Fanfic featuring KATAW = Disclaimer: This is a fantasy series inspired by the mythical creatures of Philippine mythology, with a touch of BL. Engkantos are supernatural environmental spirits and nature dwellers in Filipino folklore. They are often portrayed as beautiful, elven beings-or in some cases, hideous and powerful ones. Depicted as having high-level magical powers, they can control elements and sometimes appear in human form, with variations depending on the provinces where their stories originate. This book focuses on Chrysos, the star futsal player of Chulalongkorn University's Law Department who is working hard to earn his law degree and support his family. He shouldered heavy responsibilities at a young age when his father left them two years ago after a car accident, leaving him as the sole guardian of his little sister and disabled mother. He thought his life would be stuck in a constant cycle of just getting by from then on-but that changed when he met Calix, the cold and mysterious captain of the Chulalongkorn University swimming team.

In a ocean full of pollution, when the humans have stopped caring about what their garbage does to the oceans of Earth, a young seahorse named Quilbio finds a Q-Tip and decides to befriend it despite their differences. Inspired by one of the National Geographic photos in the #PlanetOrPlastic 500-word contest, this short story explores the value of Earth's ocean creatures and how harmful garbage can be.
