Our story's protagonist is a twenty-two-year-old American writer who is moving to Japan. She is a massive horror fan and especially loves horror manga. Her inspiration is Junji Ito. What she doesn't know is that the apartment she's living in has a supernatural curse that makes all the characters from the mangaka's stories come to life, and they are after her.
