Inspired by a haunting folklore from the Maldives, this is the story of Bi, a girl whose name is drawn to be sacrificed to a sea demon. But when a young preacher offers to take her place, and Kalo, the quiet son of a powerful family, defies tradition to save her, everything begins to unravel. Meet Oscar Nixe, a 8th grader with ombrophobia or fear of rain. When the school bullies force Oscar out into the rain, he soon finds he was right to fear the rain. There is something hunting him, something that wants him and Oscar is not sure if he can survive.
