This is a fictional story about the very last cape seahorse, how the garbage that was thrown to the ocean impacted their colony, and how being the last of his specie breaks his world apart. As part of the youth, I am aware that man-made pollutants such as garbage and waste are slowly killing the most precious creatures around the world. That's why I used the cape seahorse, one of the endangered species today, as a main character in order to make people aware of what their present situation is, its effect on the environment when it's gone, and that we should start reducing our trash to make nature return to its normal and healthy state. This is my first entry to the National Geographic #PlanetOrPlastic contest. I hope you like it.

The seas of the Pacific Ocean used to be so fresh and busy. Now, most beaches were abandoned because of the growing numbers in whale bodies washing up on shore with garbage shoved down their spouts. Even mounds of trash piled up along the coastline so families couldn't swim. The water became contaminated and marine biologists were overburdened with the responsibility of taking care of the aquatic life and their habitats affected by the pollution. (Contest entry for National Geographic, #PlanetOrPlastic)

✨One small action from the unlikeliest source can change the world. ✨ Inspired by the National Geographic/Wattpad challenge, I've written a story with the lesson that even though we may not be able to do the largest of things, that our small actions in regards to helping save our planet matter. "I am a seahorse. A majestic creature of vast oceans. Some look at my posture and call me a king but this thing I'm holding isn't my royal scepter. It's not mine at all..." This is the story of a seahorse that found a cotton swab in his ocean. This is my entry for @NationalGeographic 's #PlanetorPlastic contest. Nature always inspired writers and helped them with their struggles and now it's time for the writers to help the planet by raising awareness of the terrible things that plastic waste does to nature. That's why I entered this contest. I hope my story gets someone thinking about the environment. Completed: 10/14/18

This is about a little seahorse that lost his family and now thinks he has found a new best friend. But most importantly this is about pollution, this is about change, this story is about life. And Plastic. The story is inspired by a picture of a little seahorse carrying a Q-Tip.

When the sea is polluted, our homes and waters are too and only we can stop it. Be careful where you throw things. You could be harming a helpless innocent sea animal.
