In school Jack is bullied for being quite, Irish, gay and short. His mother neglects him, his siblings bully him and his father is an abusive alcoholic. He has suffered from depression and anxiety since he was 12 because of it. His father receives a new job offer in America and they move to LA where Jack will have a chance to start over. He then bumps into a kind young man while being bullied. Life is terrible for him and all he can do is hope for a change that may never come.
