Idiosyncratic was the only word suitable for the town. It was a very strange town indeed, but strange just wasn't big enough. Odd could work, but the town seemed more refined than a word like odd.
The clothing, the people, nothing fit into the outside world. No one even seemed to realize there was a world outside of their town. At least the Amish realized that they were the ones who didn't live like the outside world. At least the Amish realized there was an outside world.
