Every year, the tributes fight in the Hunger Games arenas. Every year, the citizens of Panem and the Capital watch. And every year, the mentors have to watch from the mentors room, famed Victors themselves, and almost entirely unable to bring home another Victor. Nobody's ever said that a Victor's life got easier after the games ended.

What if the 73th Hunger Games was the one Katniss and Peeta participated? What if it was Rue, the little mockingjay, the protagonist of the 74th Hunger Games? What if hope was shining way before the 75th Hunger Games? Will Rue's sing bring the Rebellion together? Is this child able to change the games, even more than Katniss and Peeta did?

15-year-old Seeder Callahan is reaped as a tribute for the 31st annual Hunger Games. Will she survive or meet the fate many tributes who enter the arena suffer?

When disaster strikes in the Hunger Games, Rue must fend for herself. Can she win the Games and become a victor? Beyond that, can she aid a rebellion aged only thirteen? This is a fanfiction that I wrote because Rue is my favorite character in the Hunger Games trilogy. I don't think she should have died; here is my version of what would have happened.
