I dedicated this heartfelt poem about the feeling of having a best friend who's seen as a sister, one a girl never had. Growing up surrounded by brothers and quietly feeling the absence of a sister figure in her life. In grade four, she meets someone who slowly transforms from a classmate into her closest friend and eventually becomes the sister she never had. Through shared childhood memories, personal struggles, and years of growing up side by side, the story explores how their bond deepens into something beyond friendship. It highlights how this relationship helps the narrator discover confidence, emotional strength, and a brighter outlook on life. Ultimately, the story shows that family is not always defined by blood, but can also be found in the people who choose to stay, understand you deeply, and bring light into your world when you once only saw shadows.
