I send the Cut barrelling at the monster. It dissociates into nothing only for another one to take its place. Again, I send the Cut through the abomination, but it was only a diversion. Another one forms behind me, capturing my arms to prevent me from summoning. It holds me above the ground. I kick and scream, but it covers my mouth with its long, slender arm, the other holding me securely to its chest. My breath is labored as I use all of my strength to fight it. It is futile. The Darkling approaches me, stroking his fingers across my cheek as a way to comfort me. It is hard, however, to comfort someone if you are the cause of the distress. Darklina Fanfic --------------------- The obisbaya had worked the way Lizaveta intended. King Nikolai is dead. Zoya is stuck in the fold. The Darkling has came back to life, taking his spot on the throne. The reign of Lanstovs are over. Darkling seeks out Alina as an aid and partner, old conflicts rerises between them and the rest of the world.

The darkling and Alina are readying for the final battle in the fold, when the darkling's use of merzost results in something impossible. He forces something, that isn't meant to exist, into reality. A girl from two decades into the future. This is not a self insert and let's just say the girl and the darkling's relationship is not romantic. In fact, she's got another kind of relation to him. Would she be cold and callous or would she try to fight it-would she try to be good? If you read my other Darklina book "The True Saint", this one is the opposite (although it does not connect with my other book so it can be read separately). Instead of Alina making Aleksander a better man, she becomes a monster. This takes place the night of the Winter Fete and continues until the end of Ruin & Rising. What would happen if Alina did not run that night and instead confronted the Darkling about her new knowledge of the Black Heretic? Weeks after the darklings death Alina has become hopeful that he faked his death. She has left everyone she had once believed to love in search for the man she had fallen for and nothing will stop her. Not even death as it's a constant shadow trying to take hold of her with every step she takes. Alina will do anything to find the man she loves no matter what will happen in the end.

Once again, Mal and I fled, we went on to live a new life. Mal and I had built an orphanage in Keramzin and hired a caretaker to help us. Mal still loved Zoya, but he also loved me. He though he was winning me back, everything was going good. That was until one day a certain Prince showed up at our doorstep. Nikolai shocked me by coming to the orphanage after several years. He knew I hadn't been the same since I left Os Alta, but he still loved me. He made an offer to me to come with him to The Wandering Isles for some unattended business. Zoya returned with Nikolai to stay with Mal if I accepted his offer. Mal was furious and ended up arguing with me. This hurt me so i made up my mind, i went with Nikolai. After a long trip it was time to return back home, and Nikolai asked me if I would come back to Os Alta. He offered that Mal could come back also and he could hire servants to watch the children. I shook my head, and agreed to return with him, but Mal needed a normal life. So we stopped and told them what we were doing. Mal was furious once again, but I told him I had to. So I returned with Nikolai. It was all going good until one day something changed. P.S. in this story it was told that Alina disappeared and was still alive. (Told in Alina's POV.
