Evangeline Honey Lefleur, was not a brave girl, she was certainly no hero, she was just a girl who shouldn't have existed. But by some strange twist of fate, her mother, a member of the Covey, had been separated from her traveling family members during the beginnings of the war. Evangeline Honey's mother found her way to the Capitol entirely by accident, and met a kind young man, an upstanding member of the Capitol, who she fell in love with, and thus Evangeline Honey was born. A strange mental sickness that caused her to have flashes of horrifying memories and images, headaches, shakiness, and bouts of nausea. She learned to live with her condition, attending the academy, and being sure not to disgrace her father's name and to care for the Lefleur fortune. For a time things seemed to settle, until it came time for the 10th Hunger Games. Evangeline Honey's 'visions' became worse, more vivid, and soon she began to realize these were not just flashes of her own troubled past, these were flashes of a troubled future, a future directly intertwined with her childhood friend Coriolanus Snow and his tribute for the Hunger Games Lucy Gray Baird. After Lucy Gray's death silenced the entire District, Coriolanus, in dire need of a distraction, turns to baby-sitting Sejanus, his best friend, and making sure he doesn't get into any trouble. However, it turns out that he has already done the damage and Coriolanus discovers that he is going to be arrested. With no where else to turn, the pair leaves their fate to the untaimed wilderness of the forrest's surrounding the District.

Sedaya Clementine a soon to be eighteen year-old girl is assigned her final task of the year, mentoring a tribute through the 10th annual hunger games, to guarantee she wins the Plinth prize. The prize isn't what grabs her attention though, it's Treech Mason from district seven, her tribute. Sedaya is the girlfriend of the beloved Coriolanus Snow, although her values differ from Coryo's causing a rift in their relationship. Sejanus Plinth, who is Sedaya's closest and most trusted friend in the whole school shares the belief with Sedaya that the games are wrong and inhumane. When the announcement is made that their final task is to guide their tribute through the games, Sedaya doesn't hesitate to take this opportunity to try and save at least one of their lives. While her and Coriolanus are going through rocky moments throughout their relationship Sedaya finds herself seeking comfort in her tribute Treech, overstepping boundaries that probably shouldn't be crossed. She makes a deal with herself that she will get him out of that arena even if it costs her life.

"snow on the beach, weird but f*cking beautiful," lucy gray baird finds herself thrust into the 10th hunger games after being reaped. amidst listening to her mentor, coriolanus' advice to staying alive, she notices sejanus plinth, who's one of the mentors in this year's hunger games. he's different from the other mentors she's seen and met, and is curious to know more. on the other side of the capitol, sejanus grapples with the complexities of his upbringing in being district-born and becomes increasingly disenchanted with the thought of being a mentor in this year's hunger games. before the games begin, he strikes up a friendship with lucy gray baird, which turns out to be start of a blossoming romance. or in which lucy gray baird and sejanus plinth are the ones forging their own romance despite being from opposite ends of the system.

Sejanus can see Lucy Grey and Coryo, the whispers and kisses. Their relationship is fragile, and it's quick to catch fire. Sejanus refuses to watch his best friend burn.

However, both of these boy's worlds turn upside down when they become mentors for the 10th annual Hunger Games. With Sejanus getting a blast from his past and Coriolanus's tribute building an attraction to him, will these boys ever be able to truly confront their feelings? This is basically a retelling of TBOSAS with chapters from both Coryo and Sejanus's point of view. This story will be heavily influenced by the book, but I will be altering some major scenes from the book and adding in multiple scenes of my own, including a very different ending. So this is a ballad of songbirds and snakes fanfiction for Coriolanus in his point of view most of the time occasionally I will switch it Instead of making my own character since the title is based off of a TS song I'm going to use Taylor Swift as the girl in this so no Coriolanus will not be with Lucy gray romantically and Taylor will be Jessups mentor and she is also a music artist and in the starting Coriolanus despises her as she's basically a millionaire but she is 18 but we aren't going to count how many albums so she's based on eras Taylor and the entire capital is basically our whole world with the districts surrounding the outsides
