All right, in all fairness, Dean knew he was messed up—okay, really, really, really, messed up. However, Dean had found his muse with alcohol—like normal. But...this wasn't his quote-on-quote 'normal,' binge drinking, and he knew that."

After his dream is finally crushed, Izuku isn't quite sure there's anything left for him to live for, but...he can't exactly kill himself either, not without hurting the people he cares the most about. So, when he realizes that the quirkless can't technically be vigilantes, it seems like the best of both worlds. He'll be able to save people even without being a hero and, if he happens to die while he's at it...well, like Kacchan said, maybe he'd be born with a quirk in the next life. NOT MY STORY! A self-loathing preacher with a desperate for love and human connection seeks relief in the arms of a prostitute. In the midst of his warped attempts of trying to give and receive love and cope with life, a tenderness towards human frailty is awakened in him and he seeks redemption in sacrifice. The idea formed in me one day when I was considering sanctimonious televangelists who end up caught in hypocrisy. I wondered, "what makes these guys tick?" Ultimately it is a story about how a toxic brand of Christianity motivated by guilt, shame, condemnation, and self-loathing pushes its adherents deeper into the sins it preaches against but that redemption and grace can be experienced in the most desperate and hopeless of places. . . . But ultimately I wrote it so as to be open to interpretation.
