there's a sad story behind everything, this is just my story, my brokenness, my sadness, something which makes me a writer to why I'm so fragile or why someone has made me so fragile. this is a story I could never tell her about until now. a story where I tried turning love off but love, it is there and everywhere. it's a story where I'm standing out so much that it's suffocating.

Story Description: Twelve-year-old Stanley "Stan" Lee Marsh has always been caught in a life of tension, neglect, and bruising isolation. Growing up in a household with abusive, alcoholic parents has forced him to mature faster than he should. With his sarcastic sense of humor and tendency to hide his feelings behind a cold, distant mask, Stan seems like any other pre-teen on the surface-joking, shrugging off pain, or closing himself off from the world. But underneath his humor and bravado, he's struggling with a loneliness and sadness that he can't shake. Stan's only sibling, Naomi Valefore, is almost a stranger to him. At 19, she's fierce, defiant, and unapologetic, wearing her rebellious spirit like a shield. She's got the toughness and the edge to survive in a world that's been anything but kind to her. Her usual uniform-a cropped leopard-print top showing off her snake tattoo, baggy jeans, and a studded belt-reflects her untamed attitude and willingness to challenge anyone who crosses her. Naomi's personality swings from sassy and sarcastic to furious and overprotective, yet even in her protectiveness, she's been anything but soft. For years, Stan and Naomi's relationship has been defined by bitter clashes and resentful distance. They grew up like two strangers trapped in the same turbulent world, never able to bridge the divide between them. In Naomi, Stan only ever saw another person who would push him away, and in Stan, Naomi saw a reminder of everything she wanted to escape. There was no safety, no comfort, and no understanding between them-only fights and accusations. But as their family spirals further, and the bruises-emotional and physical-become harder to hide, Stan and Naomi are forced into each other's worlds in ways they never imagined. Through stolen moments in the quiet corners of their home, when no one is there to judge or hit, they begin to see each other for who they really are: two people abandoned by those who should have cared for them.

"My Dinosaur Friend" is a heartwarming story about a nonverbal autistic boy named Ellis, who loves dinosaurs. One night, he is transported to a magical land where he meets his best friend. In this new world, Ellis realizes that his way of communication is also considered "normal" and that others need to pay more attention to his unique way of expressing himself. Through his adventures, he gains confidence and learns to embrace his differences. This story is a beautiful reminder that everyone is unique in their own way and that our differences should be celebrated. Dedicated to my son and all those who struggle to get the right words out. **Winner of childrensfiction "Portal Contest", for July 2023.
