Manic hates everyone. That's just how he is. Cold, distant, and full of disdain for the world around him. But for some reason, Wholesome refuses to take the hint. No matter how much Manic growls, sneers, or pushes him away, Wholesome keeps coming back-relentlessly patient, endlessly kind.
At first, it's just a battle of wills. Manic is determined to keep his distance, while Wholesome is just as determined to close it. But when Manic starts getting too comfortable-when his body betrays him in his sleep, clinging to the one person he swears he can't stand-everything starts to unravel.
What happens when hatred turns to something else? When the beast stops fighting the hand reaching out to him? And when the walls finally break, will Manic be able to accept the one thing he's feared all along-love?
