The world is cruel! Not only have I died, but now I've gone and grown fins, too. Oh, but what's that? Is that Azkaban? Where there's Azkaban, Sirius Black can't be far off-and that gave me a crazy idea I wanted to put into action: Mission: Save Sirius Black!

ON HIATUS (this has ended up as more of a sneak peek of the story, which I still explore and develop with sketches and worldbuilding; you can still see these on my insta and tumblr @sylvrndoodles. I may continue this in the future, but I'll probably opt for a rewrite!) Mae and Aelsiq, mermaid and selkie, are close friends. When Aelsiq's sealskin is stolen on dry land, however, Mae must find a way to help her--a way that involves a deceptively benevolent goddess. When Mae is involuntarily transformed into a human, she and Aelsiq join forces with three humans whose interests align with theirs: Perrin; a friendly expert of magical flora and fauna; Hayun; a fighter with a mysterious past; and Fenn; a prickly noble with a sharp tongue. Together the five travel the vast, magical lands of Kerriya, encountering fantastical creatures and people alike as they search for those who stole Aelsiq's sealskin and how to get it back. I used to update every Saturday, but now I'll be publishing on Saturdays only if my newest chapter has been read--it'll take some pressure off of me since me readership is pretty low anyways and I'll be able to write more and edit more before publishing, so my chapters and arcs should be a bit better before I publish them! He scratched the back of his head anxiously, fumbled awkwardly with his hands, then seemed to lose his nerve and scamper for the sanctuary of his bedroom. Sierra shook her head. He was hopeless! "Your friend - he is strange," Senka observed bluntly. Sierra could see utter confusion slipping through the cracks of the feline's carefully-constructed, icy façade. "He is always around," Senka continued, "I can never go anywhere without him somehow always being near to me. It... It is like he is a weird, cuddly serial-killer, waiting for his chance to hug me to death..." Quinn's mother always said "a garden in need always finds what it's looking for," and now Quinn is left wondering if she is the garden, or the gardener.

The sight of her classmates changing into centaurs, harpies, and merrows doesn't faze her anymore, and she's been careful to use the words Phasms or people. She hasn't forgotten that she's the only human in school and is still hiding it with the help of her friends. But even with a new French teacher, one not trying to suck the power out of the whole school, things aren't going as smooth as Fiona would like to believe. Because not everyone is pleased with the way Mr. Bishara handled things, and as Fiona finds out, not all Phasms are friendly to each other. Things go from bad to worse when the faculty begin to disappear. In the end, Fiona is forced to face the whole school and make a decision: Protect herself or protect her new home.
