The city streets are cold and damp, filled with cruelty created by those in power. But to Kiane Noa, those streets are home. Kiane is a mercenary fighting to make ends meet, struggling- trying to fight for what is right, yet it still feels as if she has no power. But when she's hired as an inexperienced bodyguard for a well-known actress/awakened supernatural her life seems to turn around almost instantly. But that does not mean her new job leads to all good opportunities. Kiane must now learn to protect instead of destroy, navigate complex and well thought out situations, and take down those who wish to do nothing but ruin this world. But most important of all, not fall in love with her employer. Can she do it? ---- Mirako (Mira) Soshi is an adored actress, an overwhelmingly popular celebrity, someone who could change thousands of people's opinions with just a few words. She strives to make the unrelenting dark streets bright and full of color, but for that to happen something needs to change. She may have a supernatural ability- but she needs more than just that. Enter a tall, somewhat brooding mercenary who has somewhat similar goals to Mira. It's a challenge, but her and this now bodyguard will have to get along, for the sake of a better world. They just can't kiss...or hug...or...any of the things they might have already done... But they need to focus, because what happens next will not be easy. ------- Note: Hello! A short story that serves as the (currently semi-canon) backstory to one of the characters in the work of a friend of mine, who goes by Phoenix Kasai. Please enjoy.

Americans revolted against the government and Congress after they started selling children to Asia and Russia as slaves. Now there is a King and Queen System. 17 year old Rylan Knight is the step daughter to the new King, King Bishop. Rylan's father died fighting to save the children being boarded onto a plane heading to Russia. Her mother remarried 12 years later, to Peter Bishop, the King of America. You probably think that being a princess would be great, right? Wrong. Rylan hates it. She only gets pampered now. She is normally independent. Now her outfits (usually dresses) get picked out for her, she isn't allowed to skate or have fun, Rylan can't go to parties, or visit friends anymore. All because she's the new Princess of America. They even offered to take her out of public school and homeschool her. But Rylan loves to break the rules.
