Kagome has to put up with schoolwork and stressing tests she really doesn't have time for, traveling 500 years into the past to the Sengoku Jidai and trying not to get killed by yokais after the shards Kagome has in her possession. Being a modern miko who was unknowingly born with the shikon no tama embedded in her body, Kagome has to search it's shards after accidentally shattering it with a purifying arrow across Feudal Japan. Not to mention dealing with her ever growing feelings for a certain inu-hanyo, which seems to be hung up on his ex-lover , miko Kikyo-who Kagome just so happens to be the reincarnation of. And to make matters worse, Kikyo is resurrected by a yokai-witch named Urasue, using half of Kagome's soul and sacred dirt from Kikyo's grave. How does the 16 year old modern-schoolgirl cope with it all?!
