She might've been the muse to a Carrie Underwood song. A Miranda Lambert CD with all the angst and twice the gasoline. It wasn't just trauma that Cassie Mckenna was running away from. It was her she was most scared of. Same broken-hearted girl who wanted nothing but to strike a match and watch it all burn to the ground. At war with her demons, Cassie leaves behind her tragic small town in Oklahoma for New York City to follow her dream as a photographer. But one vulnerable moment in the backseat with a New York City firefighter ignites her world like a backdraft. Taking another chance at love, Cassie plays the part of keeping up appearances as a firefighter's wife. Noe is her perfect match. After all, she loves fire...She really, really loves fire. Can a recovering arsonist keep the fires of her marriage simmering into happily ever after, or will her barely contained addiction once again destroy everything she loves? *** They say complements make the best kind of relationship. He likes rock. I like country. He drowns everything in Tapitio. I prefer Tabasco sauce. He's sweet and laid back, and I'm the one who holds a grudge. He puts out the fires, and I start them. Is that a deal breaker?

The worst day in the history of the United States started out normally, a day like any other. That quickly changed for so many people during a time no one will ever forget. I wrote this for my English class in 8th grade as part of an assignment and felt like sharing it.

This is a story about friendship and radio silence, panic and loss and about finding something that was really always there. But perhaps this is really a story about lakes, rocks and ripples. Because - at the heart - that's really what 9/11 is. Alternating POV * ** * Disclaimer: I do not own Elementary; I am not personally connected to 9/11; I do not speak for anyone; this is simply a work of fiction designed to work through feelings and emotions. AN: I'm not sure this is absolutely my favorite story, but it is definitely the one I am most proud of. It's not actually a style I'm used to, but I was feeling emotional and inspired and I thought to myself 'let's see where this idea leads' and things had gone off the rails before I realized. This is the story that burned me out, I think, but it's also therapeutic for me because there were some things that needed to come out despite having no 'real' connection to 9/11. Please no spoilers in the comments - I haven't seen The Finale yet -, but I am reasonably certain that there are no spoilers in this story. Just in case, please familiarize yourself with at least up to Season/Series 5 episode 'Fidelity' and know the following characters: Ms. Hudson, Lin, Alfredo, Kitty, Archie and a few others including Mason of the Irregulars. Rating: I have a problem with rating this story, because of a variety of reasons. On the one hand, I understand 'Mature'. On the other, it's 9/11. Fully grown adults back then are still having trouble understanding it now. How is something like this supposed to be categorized? Kids get dragged into natural and manmade disasters and tragedies, but this is on a whole different level and they have to learn about 9/11. If pressed, I can rate it 'M', but I think it is best left 'Unrated'.

As the title says, this is an alternative version to my Emison 9/11 AU. It has a different ending, and is much longer than the first. Disclaimers: I do not own PLL or the characters. This includes Lily and Grace. I do own all OCs, including Jonathan Dilaurentis-Fields. Rating: T Trigger Warning: This is set heavily on and around the events that took place in New York on September 11, of 2001. Please be cautious while reading this story. X-posted on FF.net. In memory of those lost on September 11, 2001. 🖤

It is the year 1996 in New York City. Phoebe arrives with her mother, both just as empty-handed and lost as for what comes next. While figuring out what to do and how to get by, some things seem to at least change for the better and get a little easier. But this easy-going goes against the nature of NYC. Thanks to her "practically a New Yorker" cousin, Phoebe lands a job in a restaurant above the clouds: Windows on the World, at the top of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The downside: too much proximity to the "suits". Also working in the Twin Tower complex, is a legal and financial advisor whose daily outfits consist exclusively of suits. Walter Cooperman. On his first visit to the restaurant in all the years that he's worked just two floors below, he comes face to face with a snarky waitress. Despite all the obvious signs telling him to face the opposite way, his consciousness marks another rhythm and decides to lend a hand the financially struggling girl. Yet, Phoebe can't help but view his good intentions as a double sided flaunt. Because that man is the embodiment of everything that she has been taught to reject. Their story never ends even when it does. There's still Faith. Going Light does not mean I have forgotten or glossed over what happens or happened. It means that I am no longer beholden or tethered to fear. I choose to center myself in peace, to not listen to, read or watch rehashing of what happened. I am clear on what happened and that will never change. Change is a choice that lives within me. Today, I honor myself and my connection with the world by remaining steadfastly connected to the peace which lives within me. I truly believe that by doing so, I change my world.
