A man forged in iron rules and honor, Baelor has studied the histories of the Dance. He knew the queen who had nearly torn the Seven Kingdoms apart. However, he never expected to meet her. Least of all when she struck his nephew and almost fractured his father's fragile peace. What did it mean to protect someone who was already dead? How could a prince rule a peaceful realm while being haunted by a queen he could not claim to know? And when duty demanded distance, why did he hesitate?

Now the Bloodfyre's are all but extinct, the Targaryens are all that remain of the dragons and yet war still rages. Euron Greyjoy has arrived to purchase the Golden Company to fight for queen Cersei against the Targaryens, Starks and their allies. The fate of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms lay in the hands of the young Aegor Bittersteel the Dragon of Steel.
