A road construction site in Poland uncovers decapitated skeletons with their skulls placed between their knees or hands-an ancient method used to keep supposed vampires from rising. As archaeologists investigate, the graves begin to shift, stones crack, and the soil exhales cold mist, until the bodies vanish entirely, leaving only dragging footprints leading away from the open earth.

Levina and her loving husband share one common interest. Art. Within their fresh new marriage, an obstacle arises that festered the more they ignore confrontation. An idea strikes them when a mistake becomes a blessing in disguise. However, if someone catches on to this idea, jealousy and strife will develop and cause a drastic separation. Will they be able to survive this? Or will they think it's best to venture off in their separate ways? **This is based in the late 60s-early 70s era**

This is an excerpt from my first story SDITF, which is currently incomplete. The excerpt is not going to tell you explicitly, but this excerpt does not take place in the present era of the main story.
