While the wizarding world struggles with the return of Voldemort, Harry struggles with the death of Sirius and his own out of control magic. His summer before 6th year is unlike any other as he trains alongside the Order, grows close to Severus Snape, of all people, and learns of an unfathomable fate assigned to one Draco Malfoy, a fate he is determined to stop. As the world falls apart, it seems Harry's life may finally come together.

Harry Potter has only ever known the dusty cupboard under the stairs, where his Aunt and Uncle keep him well and truly hidden from the world. He is let out only for school, chores, and sometimes meals if they're feeling charitable. He knows nothing of magic except for his very vivid dreams once a month from the view of a small wolf pup, and his hazy memories of green flashing lights and loud crashes, which his Aunt Petunia had once insisted were just his imagination running wild. Nevermind the odd accidents that happened around him, the strange things that changed or disappeared when he tuned into his emotions just a little too much. All of that changes on his eleventh birthday, when a mysterious stranger introduces him to a whole new world that explains quite a lot of things he'd thought were only imaginary. His entire worldview shifts, but the peril he's immediately thrust into upon discovering this world puts him on the path to a destiny he's fairly certain he wants no part of.

Harry learned something about his parentage from a delay-timed letter from his mother the night he turned fifteen. Then, everything turned upside down in 5th year potion class, changing his life forever irrecoverably.

He's always known they didn't really care. After all, who would care about someone like him. Even so, he didn't think they would take things that far. He had overheard them discussing his approaching death. They planned on him dying during his fight with Voldemort, and them taking is fame and fortune. They had already begun draining his vaults. They have been feeding him love potions to make him fall in love with Ginny so she would inherit everything when he died. Dumbledore has put him with the Dursley's in hopes he would be abused and come to Hogwarts eager to please the one who 'saved' him. When he was beaten nearly to death the summer after his fifth year by his uncle, he escaped and went to the house on Spinners End he had heard of only briefly during a conversation with Sirius earlier that year. He knew that the man would be the only one to not report straight back to either Dumbledore, or Voldemort. The man was completely unaware of his true relation to the boy, and he planned to keep it that way. He didn't plan to stick around long anyway, just long enough to get to safety. Things weren't supposed to turn out like this, but things tend to get out of control for the boy who lived, and he didn't know where else to go.
