Following the summer break with his new guardian, twelve year old Harry is returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to begin his second year. But with the bloodwards transferred from his relatives' home significantly weaker, it hasn't been quite the fairytale ending he'd hoped for, and now there's trouble brewing at Hogwarts too. Harry must navigate both paths simultaneously, but the darker forces at play soon find him questioning who he can really trust. AU, Severitus, second year. Post War I : Severus Snape falls in love with Olivia but he keeps it a secret. Harry runs away the summer before 2nd year. He is missing for many months before Snape tracks him and brings him back to Hogwarts. Having been kicked out of school, the only way he can stay at Hogwarts is to become an apprentice. Snape reluctantly agrees to take him on, but circumstances get complicated and the two end up having to go into hiding, forcing them to get closer and bond as a father & son. This is Severitus-style fic focused on Harry and Snape and a few OCs.
