However, not all shadows are good or bad - just like humans, some are kind and some are evil. Whether or not you'll be protected depends on your Shadow's willingness. At the age of 18, a person's shadow will graduate and become an independent human, separate from its owner. The Paranormal Shadow Association provides funds for these newly independent shadows to attend college and pursue their own careers. Xie Lian is about to turn 18 and is excited about the graduation of his shadow, Hua Cheng. However, Hua Cheng has different plans. He is determined to build a successful career. As Xie Lian navigates the challenges of high school and prepares for the future, he must confront the possibility of losing Hua Cheng forever.
