"You guys aren't going to budge on this, are you? You- you don't even have a proper boat, there's none of the cannons or anything. Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, it's hard breaking laws after so many years of running a benevolent kingdom. You guys know about where the empires are, and free trade agreements, and the structural integrity of certain buildings, not whatever it is you're planning." "So what?" Joel said, seemingly taking on the brunt of this debate. "We can, I dunno, steal treasure from the abandoned empires. We know where all their stuff is anyway, so hah, take that-" There was a pause. A realization shared among all three in the conversation, if you will. Not quite a lull, per se-this is something that would be marked in a script, that would be etched into history, that would seal their fates in aptly said teasing words. "Joel," began Lizzie, "Did you just come up with a near-flawless plan to become pirates?" He seemed to consider this. Looked to Jimmy, offered him a shit-eating grin. "Sorry, lad. I think you just led us right to a solution." - OR; Joel & Lizzie decide that they're best suited for a life at sea. An old friend from years past (it's only been a month or two) makes a treacherous deal with forces he doesn't understand. From their graves, ghosts of past empires arise. Bdubs stepped off of the plane, taking off his headphones and wrapping them around his neck. "Hey Bdubs!!" He glanced around and saw Scar, who waved a sign in the air. "Hey dude, you made it!!" Bdubs' stomach grumbled almost as if on cue. Scar chuckled and they walked out. "So how was your flight?" He asked. "It was alright. Had some bad turbulence when we came in since it's raining so hard." Scar nodded. "So where's Grian?" Bdubs asked. "We're gonna meet up at a diner, you okay with that?" Joel gem and grian work at there family owned mechanics shop, at least that's what they do when they're not the crime fighting persona's of grasshopper, zodiac, and mimic. But mimic didn't always work with his siblings, he used to work with a group called the spanners before- well before the other spanners died. He's really sad about that. It's up to Joel gem and grian to figure out what happened to the spanners and who knows who else's they might meet on this journey. Lizzie decided to sit down on a bench in the lobby and her eyes found a boy who was standing by the vending machine. He looked sort of cute, but it wasn't like she was here looking for boys anyways. Of course there's that fantasy of having a kiss while at a camp, but that wasn't her intention. Even so, she glanced at him every now and then. He was leaning against the wall on his phone, listening to music while scrolling on his phone. His brown hair was just long enough for him to have to brush it back every now and then, and there was a long green streak in his bangs. He suddenly lifted his head and Lizzie quickly looked to the floor, her eyes glued to her converse. The boy put down his phone and walked over to a counselor, asking him a question. She leaned in to listen, just to hear his voice, but she got cut off when she heard another adult call for all the creative writing kids to get in a group. She sighed but stood up and made her way over, glancing at the boy once more over her shoulder before ignoring him. ~ This Shadowbeans story is all in Lizzie's perspective and is only 10 chapters. It is all based off of a true story at a summer camp that I recently went to. While it was very fun to learn about creative writing for about five days, this story focuses on another event that took place. I hope you enjoy! This story is a sequel to my story We're Just Friends (specifically the rewritten version). The title is pretty self explanatory, but here's a short summary anyways: - Etho started working as a scout leader for his old Boy Scout troop, leaving Joel mostly alone with his thoughts and father. His father, while accepting his sexuality, always seemed to ask the wrong questions as the worst times. "Are you sure you're bi?" "See, that makes me think you're straight." "What even makes you think you like boys? Maybe you and Etho are just friends." More and more of Darren's confusion started to interfere with Joel's thoughts.
