A group of people discover that they have extraordinary powers and must decide whether to use them for good or for evil. The ranks of both the good and bad forces swell as more people discover their super powers, and the battle between good and evil rages as one of those with extraordinary powers enters the conflict a young man with autism by the name of John Hiawatha a circus performer whose mutant powers giving him animals senses, empathy, and the abilities of an animal. His life is a mystery to most, and to most, he seems uncaring, unfeeling, though behind that beats the heart of an animal and a warrior, just waiting to come out.

Cornelius "Linus" August is a student at Bayville Middle School. Once he turns 13 years old, he gains a strange ability to twist reality in strange ways. He can stretch his body, make colorful bubbles, and play all sorts of clown tricks. He also looks like a clown. There's no hiding his mutation. He's already had it hard enough being trans in the early 2000s, but now he's also a mutant. His parents don't handle it. His dad is a drunk, and his mom is a nurse and on call for 18 hours a day. He's scared and doesn't know what to do. That's when he runs into Logan Howlett.

Bobby and John are in a relationship and John told Bobby a lot about his past but not everything. Some things are hidden because John doesn't want Bobby to know that his life could be over sooner than anyone expect.

Rogue starts a delinquent program for mutants after seeing a news report on TV. Who are these new mutants? Who will they trust? What secrets do they behold?
