She was but a spectator. Quiet and lonely, she was always the first to fade into the background. Always the first to stand back and watch as the big dogs played. It was never the most satisfying role, but it was peaceful. But since when has peace ever lasted? (I was inspired by @JaneConquestBackup's book of One-Liner Prompts!!)
