Shadow the Hedgehog was just minding his own business until he saves the life of a badger named Ava. At first, nothing seems out of place, but when Ava suddenly falls unconscious, Shadow vows to do everything in his power to figure out the truth of who she really is. ~~~~ (Rating: PG-13: Mild language, mild violence) A/N: This story takes place some time between Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and Sonic Forces. Also when writing this story, I wrote it as if it was the story for an actual video game. So, I've inserted where the actual gameplay would happen within the narrative. After another attempted failure in creating a cure for his sickly granddaughter, Maria, Professor Gerald Robotnik was getting desperate. His star pupil, Doctor Maci Garcia, offered a solution, creating the Ultimate Cure, Project: EMBER. Under the guidance of her professor, Doctor Maci was successful in creating Project: EMBER. Not ready to be introduced to the others, Ember was kept away in a different place in the Ark. When her test results came up with a high success rate for a cure, she was soon introduced to Maria, Abe, and Shadow. And thus a somewhat beautiful friendship blossomed. But it didn't last for long.

On a cold, rainy day, Sonic discovers an abandoned infant hedgehog on the streets. With no choice but to take the baby girl in, Sonic seeks Shadow out for help. Reluctantly, Shadow agrees to foster the baby girl with Sonic after she starts calling him 'daddy'. What starts out as a rescue mission turns into something more with the two hedgehogs, and their new baby girl. DISCLAIMER: I own nothing from SEGA. I know I said I'd only start another fanfiction once I finished writing An End to All, but I figured I'd be more motivated to write An End to All if I told myself I could only write a chapter of fanfiction if I write a chapter of regular fiction. We'll see how this goes. There might be a tiny tiny tiny bit of Sonadow in this, idk, teehee, but little to no romance. This story will probably be fairly short and will probably focus on Tango and Peaches, Sonic's Chao and Shadow's Chao. About 1000 words per chapter.

Nine established a small home, but found he was just as unhappy as before. His day to day is interrupted by a sudden surge of energy rippling across the sky. Your character is a villain in this story, mostly only interested in your own wants/ goals. You're technologically smart and generally nihilistic but also sophisticated.
