17-year-old Gweneth Anderson, also known as Gwen, has a pretty normal life. She plays the piano, violin, softball, and loves horses! Gwen is a junior in high school with good grades, good friends, and a set mind. Her parents are happily married...or so she thought. Her parents filed to get a divorce for 5 weeks until the end of the school year. Her best friend, Lydia, has been her friend since they were babies. She promised to stick by Gwen's side through life, but that changes when Lydia's life is put in jeopardy. After a series of events, Gwen questions everything. It was nine pm. Shailie was staring into the left window of the front porch of the Garson's home. Watching the family laugh at the tv. The family that used to be hers. She sighed and a tear slid down her face. Turning away, she climbed onto the swing that had been built for her when she was seven. Pushing her dirty bare feet into the cold dirt, she swung high into the air, smiling faintly at the rush of air that blew her thin hair back. Staring out at the sky, she thought about her life, her life before she died.
