As one of the Young sisters and part of the tight-knit circle surrounding Tommen College, Lizzie has spent her life surrounded by people who think they already know exactly who she is. She doesn't need saving, and she definitely doesn't need anyone telling her what to do. Then Carl Gallagher enters her life. Carl is chaos wrapped in a bad attitude. He's stubborn, unpredictable, and somehow always exactly where Lizzie doesn't want him to be. Coming from a world completely different from Tommen, Carl doesn't know the history, the friendships, or the complicated lives Lizzie has always been surrounded by. And, unlike everyone else, he doesn't treat her like someone he's already figured out. They were never supposed to understand each other. They were never supposed to become friends. And they definitely weren't supposed to fall for each other. But somewhere between the arguments, the chaos, and the moments neither of them talks about, Lizzie and Carl begin to realize that sometimes the person who understands your mess the most is standing right in the middle of it with you.
