Ilyas's head had ended up between his knees, his hands wrapping around the back of his helmet. Ilya couldn't keep the thoughts away. He tried to think of things that didn't relate to Shane, or his mother, or hockey. Grasping at the mental straws, he couldn't come up with anything that didn't relate to Shane in some way. He had completely taken over Ilyas' life. Every good memory he had had Shane in it. Ilya spiralled further, the rubber floor seeming to spin. He had undone his helmet, letting it clatter onto the floor. OR What if Ilya couldn't hold it together when Shane got hurt.

Shane and Ilya are parents of two children, and it's a nightmare. The best nightmare of their lives.

"What's between us, Rozanov?" Shane hears the breathy chuckle again. "Well, that is, most of the time there is nothing - except for the empty porn chatting. But now we're standing here together." "And then what?.." Or a little piece of Hollanov's tough conversation.

Ilya had started to understand exactly when his thoughts would begin to slip away. It always began first with the sounds gradually becoming muffled. Like a radio starting to crackle and completely lose coherence as you enter a tunnel. The footsteps around him would slowly turn into something like hearing his own heartbeat, that is, complete silence. His eyes would be open, yet he would be unable to fully grasp the existence of anything around him. Even if there were a massive building in front of him or a brightly colored flower, he would not be aware of it and would simply stare. This world could be loud, enormous, and impossible to ignore, but he would lose himself deep within his mind and be unable to emerge from there for a long time. Deeper and deeper into his mind.

Takes place roughly after the hook-up after the hockey awards, but since I know nothing about sports, the timeline probably makes no sense. Shane buys Ilya a Christmas present and tries to get the courage to give it to him. Total Christmas fluff.
