"I'm a female hockey player, Shane. Even if I hadn't come out you, which I'm pretty sure I did, I think it's safe to say that I'm queer," Ava said, baffled. She was sure she had come out to Shane, at some point. "Nope. That never happened. Trust me, I'd remember my sister coming out to me! This book plays after 'the long game' and will contain spoilers for every book. Ilya and Shane have met eachother the first time thirteen years ago and now they are married, living together with a dog and playing on the same hockey team. There're still some people who are really homophobic but Shane and Ilya do not care anymore. Watch them, as they explore married life together, get a bigger family and grow old together. It couldn't be that. Shane couldn't be like that. He was just tired. He didn't have to remember Marleau. He wasn't his teammate or friend. But Shane just didn't forget stuff like that. That's not who he was. He remembered things from years ago that Ilya had no recollection of. Okay, they were hockey players; blunt force trauma to the head was basically guaranteed.
