Computer sounds could be heard from every angle, a few coughs and sniffs every now and then were heard. In one of the cubicles was a lanky man slouching in his seat as he stared at his computer screen. Is this really my life? He thought as he continued to stare, his eyes finally led to the drawer in his desk. Grandpa's letter, he didn't know this day would come so soon but maybe he needs to open his letter, maybe his life needed to change. -- heyy! so this is my first fanfic, i'm honestly writing this for fun and i don't really care if it doesn't get any attraction but if it does i'll appreciate it!. Just a little heads up, the farmer is a guy and his main love interest is shane. This story has mentions of depression, suicide, alcoholism, and dealing with grief. This story will most likely be a slow burn and obviously shane will be an asshole at first. The story will have mentions of the heart events of shane but most of the story will be slightly modified i'm sorry if that's not to your liking!

As if his life couldn't be destroyed enough, Shane is here, praying to a god he doesn't know exist, hoping to whatever spirit is out there, and crying to Mother Nature herself to please and save Bambi. That stupid girl he let himself fall in love with, he let himself become vulnerable with, and once again it caused him pain. "I'm so sorry," he choked out, a pure apology that Shane wasn't known for. "We'll get you to Harvey," he promised and picked her up, her small weight nothing to him. Shane could feel the tears running down his cheeks but he refused to acknowledge them or even wipe them away as he would usually do. "Please wake up." It was soon that he noticed not just everything Sam did, but everything people around him did. Every "friendly" shoulder punch, every joke, every glance. He hated that people seemed to get so close to Sam when he was around, he absolutely hated it. His anger grew more and more and his jealously swelled. He needed to fix it.
