Y/n is the new farmer and rising star as she moved into the quaint village of Pelican Town to fix up her grandfather's farm in which she'd inherited after his death. Planning to sell it the next year as she doesn't believe she's fit for the job, she finds more and more reasons to stay within the village- especially after taking special interest in the town drunk.. We watch her struggle with anxiety and the pressures from the rest of the town as she grows out her newfound business. Shane is the town drunk- unapproachable, snarky and downright rude. He's been in the town for a while now- years, actually. Though, he's never felt any sense of belonging in the place. More annoyed with everyone's happy demeanor, he has one real love; Alcohol. Soon enough however, he finds himself growing attracted to the new farmer- convinced he doesn't deserve her, they make a promise that has the potential to turn his life around.

As a child, you'd visited your grandfathers farm. You'd sit on the porch, visit the library or play in the playground with other children. An older boy, Marnie's nephew, was your favorite playmate. Despite your ages being 13 and 15, he loved to tease you. You loved hanging out with him in the secret chicken coop he owned, raising these powder blue chickens. "Trust me..when I'm older, they'll be neon blue! Just watch!" You'd developed quite the crush on your playmate. While you visited pelican town every summer, you didn't know your 14th summer there would be your last. You and your friend promised to stay in touch, but never did.. Nearly 10 years later, upon your grandfathers passing, and receiving the will to his farm, you return to pelican town. Seeing some man at the bar, leaned against the wall, orange lighting flickering across his stubbled face, you recognized him! Jogging up to him and greeting your old friend, you were disappointed. "Why are you talking to me? I don't know you." He grumbled, his breath heavy with alcohol. How can you make him remember? How can you reunite? Will your years of pining finally come to a climax?
