There was a world named Bachikii split into five different 'segments'; one part consisted of humans, another vampires, another witches, another full of shape-shifters, and finally a part of domesticated and wild animals. Every one of these creatures had a bright red mark on their hand, and each was unique to them and another. No other pair had the same symbol imprinted into their skin. Depending on the person, these marks could determine your best friend or your soul mate. Typically, one of the same creature would share your 'tattoo', however there were very few rare cases where two different creatures would share the same mark. They were shamed for it, and anyone caught mixing two different species together would be shunned upon. Thus, anyone with the unfortunate fate of this happening to them were forced to hide the fact that they weren't matching up with their partner's species, or stray away from the person completely.
