𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. After moving to a new city for a fresh start, Aarohi thought her biggest problem would be surviving a new school. She was wrong. Because apparently her new apartment already comes with a roommate- and unfortunately, it's Vihaan. Annoyingly attractive. Too confident. Professional menace. And the most popular guy in school. Now they're stuck under the same roof, fighting over rooms, stealing each other's peace, making stupid house rules, and pretending the tension between them doesn't exist. But somewhere between sarcastic arguments, late-night conversations, jealous moments, and accidental softness... things start changing. Maybe some people aren't mistakes. Maybe they're just unexpectedly yours. ♡

There is a version of this story in which nothing happens. In which two teachers share a room on a school ski trip for five nights, maintain a professional distance, and say goodbye without either of them doing anything they can't take back. This is not quite that story. The Mountain is a novella about the gap between wanting something and being allowed to want it - and about what it costs to be decent when decency is the last thing you feel.

Scarlett Blake pensait enfin souffler.
