A Ramayana Retelling Sita walks back into Ayodhya not as a queen, but as a woman shaped by exile. Urmila counts the years in silence, her loyalty unacknowledged. Mandavi, always steady, finds her faith tested in a world that doesn't reward stillness. And Bharat-grief-stricken, duty-bound-must lead a kingdom while mourning a brother who was never truly gone. The Return is a reflective reimagining of the Ramayana, told not through battles and dharma, but through longing, loss, love, and quiet defiance. What does it mean to return-to a palace, to a relationship, to oneself-when everything familiar feels changed?

The Untold contexts left burried inside. Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic written sometime in the fifth century BCE about Rama, prince of Ayodhya who is exiled and then returns. The sage Valmiki wrote it in Sanskrit and taught it to Rama's sons, the twins Lava and Kush. It is a rather long poem, with approximately 24000 verses and is known as the Adi Kavya. (adi = original, first; kavya=poem) While the basic story is about palace politics and battles with demon tribes, the narrative is interspersed with philosophy, ethics, and notes on duty. This book states most of the facts that people are oblivious of. Cover credits- @hazelwolfx

"Sorry about the late update but from this week I will try to upload 1-3 chapter weekly" said Author This is the first story I am writing. This story is about Lakshman and what I would do if I were in his shoes after the defeat of Ravana. I know I was a good brother, son, and prince but I never became a good husband. I am tired of my sacrifice. I want to give you the happiness that you deserve Urmila. I know that you have never complained but... I want to provide you with what you deserve. I hope that doing this also gives me the happiness and appreciation that I want to feel.

The breezes were fluid in their dances. Birds sang in their chime like voices, swelling at the glories of their Natha. The sun was never harsh in its sheen. The autumn sunshine that you'd bask in. The entire Prakriti would breathe the name of Rama. Slowly, like the greatest hymn it had ever known. Their SiyaRama were back. Finally. Urmila is a princess from the beautiful kingdom of Videha. As amazing and spectacular as her princess agenda must be, she has exactly two priorities: 1) Her sister, Sita, living a happy life, no matter what she does, who she marries, if she marries at all. 2) Her always living with her sister Sita, because that's the only way she'll be happy. So when Sita gets married to Prince Ram from the massive empire of Kosala, it's only fair that Urmila tags along. As the wife of Ram's younger brother, Lakshman? Oh well. She didn't quite expect that. And what of those mysterious rumors surrounding him? Her husband, with strangely serpentine manners. A dark aura hanging around him, shadows surrounding his stature, dark eyes and angrier soul? Could he really be the infamous King of the Serpents? With a dangerous new husband, in a massive castle surrounded by secrets, Urmila isn't quite sure what to do. All she knows? She has to survive. After all, it's either that, or being separated from her sister. Forever. (Warning: this story is a Lakshmila ROMCOM, not a steamy Wattpad mafia story)

Ramayana. An Indian epic that has lived through the centuries and has only grown even more in the process. An epic that shows ideal characters, many of whom we worship, and other characters from whom we learn what we shouldn't be at any cost. But one thing that has been a constant for many centuries now is the examples we give, referring to the epic. One of the most popular ones being "Be a brother like Rama." Not only is the Ramayana an enchanting tale of love and devotion, but it's also an equally magical example of brotherhood and affection. Brothers who stood with each other through thick and thin. Brothers who would readily sacrifice their life for the other. Brothers who would love the other, and support him when nobody else did. This book brings to you the Ramayana, but this time, the limelight is on the inseparable brothers. *** Disclaimer: Please do not read this book if you do not like humanization of deities. However, I can assure you that ALL relationships in this book are shown the way they're meant to be - no non-canon shipping. I can also assure you, that since I myself am a devotee of Shri Rama, that you will never have me intentionally writing anything against him, his real nature - the same goes for the others - Sita, Lakshmana, Urmila, Bharata, Mandavi, Shatrughna, Shrutakeerti, Dasharatha, the mothers... All of them will always get their due respect in this book. Secondly, I've followed the Valmiki Ramayana throughout. Some incidents may be revelations, as quite a few things are contrary to popular perception and other versions. Thank you! Fantastic cover designed by @Mochis4lifeq52627 <3

#5 under the tag lakshman!......All Sanskrit retelling don't mention about divinity of sisters of sita, death of sita's sister is not mentioned,in Anand Ramayana it is written that urmila was the incarnation of milk ocean which provided stability to Sheshnag. So,she would have died earlier,I thought of writing a fanfiction on the same. However, its a TOTAL FICTION and not made to hurt someone's sentiments...This is the confusion which make this epic more great and exciting. This fanfiction will revolve around lakshman n ram and of course..lakshmila.Please do review and enjoy!!!

This story was about those days of Bharata's life when he had governed the administration of Ayodhya in absence of Shri Ram for fourteen long years. Bharat had each kind of bliss in his life like loving father, caring mothers, and brothers who were more than even life for him. The life cherished by Bharat became chaotic after his elder brother, Shri Ram had left for exile. Bharat was told to rule instead of his elder brother which might seem a responsibility to outer world, but the regret behind that responsibility was hardly seen by anyone. Let's meet a sovereign planned out by destiny, but what he had earned was solely made out of his dedication.

"Things end, but memories last forever." Before he defeated Ravan, before he became the saviour of the world, before he sat upon the throne of Kosala, Ram was a simple prince. Before his wife, Sita, was abducted, before he had to endure endless hardships, before he had to kill thousands of rakshasas, Ram was a mere boy. Before he was Raghuvanshi, Scion of Ikshvaku, Ruler of the most powerful state in Ancient India, Ram was just a son, a husband, and a brother to three. So these are the moments before, before any of that happened. Moments where the four princes of Kosala could laugh without worry, moments where they could cry over the small things, moments where they could simply live without a burden on their shoulders. Moments when they could just be people. And yet, as all happy memories do, these moments passed by like a fleeting car, never to be experienced, felt, or known again, just remaining embedded in the minds of whom they belonged. After Ram defeated Ravan, after he ruled Kosala, after he became King, he remembered these moments with a smile. These are the memories which forever shall be remembered. These are the fleeting moments of the Ramayan. Note-Uh, some of these do not match the blurb. "In a Tree" is not a happy chapter.
