Mehek was walking aimlessly on the footpath. The subtle drizzle was soon threatening to become heavy downpour. Many fellow pedestrians were taking shelter in nearby shops or buildings as wind dared to push away their umbrellas and caps. Yet Mehek remained unperturbed and continued to walk. She had no more goals or hope in life. She possessed not reason to go on. Yet it wasn't in her to give up easily. Mehek wished she was a coward like her best friend Nandini or a liar like her husband Kunal; correction former best friend and ex-husband. She smirked at her folly. It's been an year and still she mistakes them as her own. All that was left for her was her career and her family which was her sister, Nehal & brother-in-law, Vicky. Her hard luck, today she lost them as well. It was raining heavily and she was fully drenched. Wind smashed heaving drops of rain against her delicate body yet she didn't mind the pain. She wished it could help her to overcome her mental agony. In her emotional turmoil , she didn't notice an expensive sedan halting behind her until the passenger called out her name, "Ms Mehek Sharma". She was jolted from her trance as she turned to face him. "Mehek", his voice sounded much softer now , laced with care. Mehek was able to recognize him now. It was Shaurya. He felt pity for her condition and quickly took off his expensive jacket to cover her body. Although he was the last person she wished to meet, Mehek was so torn that she wept and fell on to his chest for comfort. "It's okay, Mehek", he patted to calm her. His trusted right hand, Awara was already beside them, holding an umbrella to cover them from rain. Shauyra slowly maneuvered Mehek towards his car and made her sit beside him.
