This is an alternate ending short story for my "Cross My Heart" story. You would need to read or at least start reading Cross My Heart first, to understand THIS story!! In "Cross My Heart", Gavin (Ed Sheeran) and Gwen are boyfriend/girlfriend after Gavin saves her from a life of captivity. But something happens.... This story starts at the moment in Cross My Heart, that Gavin is shot in the chest. Instead of him pulling through and surviving, as he does in that story, I've branched off and written this short story of what would happen to Gwen and Nate if Gavin died. How they each would mourn his death. How Gwen would get through the loss of the love of her life....her everything....her reason for breathing....her reason for being. How would she survive without him? Nate, Gavin's best friend in the world, and practically a brother to him, promised Gavin that he'd take care of Gwen throughout her life, before Gavin was going to die. He loved her already. He was in love with her, and Gavin knew this. Gavin approved of Nate's love for Gwen, and he knew she'd be in good hands with him.
