I'm surprising a friend of mine Ada Shelby, who I've known since she was born. My names Harper Avery , I'm 35 and originally from Birmingham. Yeah I know wow I'm friends with a Shelby, yeah I grew up with them, I'm the same age as her brother tommy... Moving on. "I guess It's a nice day for the shit hole we live in" i think to myself as I walk into the garrison. Everything goes quiet as I walk in. I walk over to the bar and take off my hat. "Can I get a scotch " I say and the barman quickly makes it up for me. I take my hair out of the bun it was in letting my brown curls fall onto my shoulders and down my back. I light up a cigarette and down my scotch. As I smoke my cigarette I turn to the barman and say "do me a favour, get Poll , tell them Someone wants her" He nods and as he was about to walk away poll walks out and over to the doors unlocking the other side. As she goes to lift glasses off a table, leaving my suitcase at the bar, I walk up behind her and say "gee poll I take it you didn't miss me then" she turns, screams and drops the glasses on the floor making them shatter. "Harper Avery where the fuck have you been!" She says and pulls me into a tight hug. I laugh and say "I missed you too poll" as doors open and the three Shelby boys run out with there guns in there hands. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lilah Morgan had not wanted to go home after her time as a field nurse in The Great War. Not to Canada and all her old memories. And definitely not back to the nunnery that she'd lied about her aged to get away from. And so in 1918 somehow she'd ended up in Birmingham. And like a plant she'd grown strong in the close-knit family of the shelby's. Two years later she left back to Frances for another 'better life'. When she returns they are in worse trouble than ever before but who can say no to family. Everyone welcomes her home, but Thomas. "You think I would betray my family?" She whispered. He pauses at that, and stared up at her from where his eyes had fallen to the table as if reading his investigation from a script.
