Ishta is the Babylonian goddess of love , sex and fertility. According to an old myth, Ishta was originally fully mortal. Samyaza, the leader of the biblical band of angels seduced by the 'daughters of men', falls in love with her. She then deceives him to gain access into heaven, deifying herself. This story details what really happened between Ishta and Samyaza.
