My cousin Lady Rin-chan came up with the idea to write a Christmas story for the Shepherds in FEA. The story included both of our tacticians in it. I enjoyed the writing process immensely, helping with ideas and even doodling for her, hehe. Things got busy around Christmas, though, and she hit a bit of a slump. She offered to let me contribute to her story by writing my own POV segment, and I'm also going to post that here, alone with whatever other holidays I may write about with the FEA characters. So this is something I have started over one year ago, meaning I will propably edit it soon. Anyway, enjoy! :D I don´t own Fire Emblem Awakening or any of its used characters, names or elements. I only own this story and my own characters. Cover not by me. Ruth had always dreamed. Dreamed about mastering the art of sword fighting. Dreamed about leaving her hometown. Dreamed about staying by her best friends side. But never about the flames that consumed her life within only a few hours, and the bandits that came with them. Never about the death of her best friend, or the loss of her freedom and everything else she had treasured. But when she crosses paths with a group of elite fighters, known as the shepherds, under the lead of a Prince and an unknown tactician, her life takes yet another turn. But sometimes turns are just not enough to forget the past....

This story was inspired by the old Christmas song, "The Little Drummer Boy." I gave the "Boy" a life of his own. A curious boy and up to his maturity, life was still a puzzle he can't comprehend, until..., well... NOTE: I thought the Christmas song, "The Little Drummer Boy," was in the public domain, but it was not. So I search for the copyright holder and with the help of Mark Hauth (Music Services), i found Charlie Rosen (International Korin Corp.). I emailed Mr, Rosen and ask permission to use the "boy" in a story I'm going to write. Mr. Rosen replied that I don't need a permission as long as I don't use any part (lyric) of the song.

I own no characters, items, or settings. Everything belongs to Nintendo and the chapters are based off of the actual in game story. There will be over 50 chapters (including the paralogues, premonition, actual chapters, and prologue)
